Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy explains how IA Checker processes personal data when you visit iachecker.com, create an account, purchase a subscription, contact the team or use its detection, humanisation, translation and related tools.
The operator of IA Checker is the controller for the processing described here. Privacy questions and rights requests may be submitted through the contact@iachecker.com or the contact form.
Data we process
| Account data | Email address, name or profile details supplied through authentication, WorkOS identifiers, account role and session information. |
|---|---|
| Billing data | Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, selected plan, billing period, status, invoice and payment confirmation. IA Checker does not receive or store complete payment-card details. |
| Submitted content | Text, supported files, public URLs and the instructions needed to perform the tool you choose. Standard pasted-text detection stays in your browser unless you explicitly enable account history. |
| Optional account history | For signed-in users who enable text history: saved source text, resulting text or structured analysis, tool, model, language, options, counts and timestamps. Images are not copied into account history. |
| Usage data | Tool, event type, plan, source, time, word or character count and a first-party anonymous session identifier. Product analytics are designed not to include the raw submitted text. |
| Feedback and quality signals | Your useful/not-useful vote, model and version, score, verdict, language, length range, signal scores, source type and a pseudonymous identifier. Raw analyzed text is not stored with a feedback vote. |
| Technical and security data | IP address, browser and request information, timestamps, diagnostic logs, rate-limit signals and security events. |
| Contact data | Name, email address, organisation, team size, workflow details and message when you email contact@iachecker.com or use a contact form. |
How submitted content is handled
Detection in your browser
The standard pasted-text detector runs in your browser. The text is not transmitted to IA Checker merely because you paste it. First-party usage events may record that a tool was used and the size of the input, but not the raw text.
Documents and optional history
Files that need document extraction may be sent to IA Checker's processing service for the short period needed to extract readable text. Signed-in users can separately enable text history in their account. When enabled, successful text checks and transformations are saved for that user; turning it off stops future saves, and saved items can be deleted individually or together.
Server and partner processing you request
When you choose URL analysis, IA Checker fetches the public page needed to return its readable text. When you explicitly enable public-source matching, IA Checker sends a small, bounded selection of distinctive passages to its web-search provider to locate potential source pages; the browser detector itself remains local. When you choose humanisation, translation or a specialist partner model, the submitted content is securely transmitted to the relevant processing provider—such as DeepSeek, Pangram or Undetectable AI—only to perform that request.
IA Checker does not sell submitted content and does not use it to train IA Checker models unless you separately and expressly opt in. Avoid submitting secrets or special-category personal data unless it is necessary, lawful and you are authorised to do so.
Purposes and legal bases
IA Checker processes personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:
- Contract: to provide tools, authenticate users, operate accounts, administer credits, process subscriptions and deliver support.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, understand product performance, improve reliability and defend legal claims.
- Legal obligations: to maintain required financial records, respond to valid legal requests and comply with tax, accounting and consumer law.
- Consent: where required for optional cookies, communications or any future use that is not necessary to provide the Service.
Service providers and disclosures
IA Checker shares only the information reasonably necessary for a provider to perform its role:
| OVHcloud | Hosting and managed PostgreSQL infrastructure for account, billing and product data. |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Content delivery, network security, request handling and Workers infrastructure. |
| WorkOS | Account authentication, identity and secure sessions. |
| Stripe | Checkout, payment processing, subscriptions, invoices and billing portal. |
| DeepSeek | AI-assisted text humanisation and translation when either feature is selected. |
| Exa | Public-web search for potential matching source passages when plagiarism/source matching is explicitly enabled. |
| Pangram | Specialist AI-detection processing when that model is selected. |
| Undetectable AI | Partner humanisation processing when that tool is selected. |
| Formspree | Delivery and handling of information submitted through contact forms. |
Data may also be disclosed to professional advisers, a successor in a corporate transaction, or public authorities where reasonably necessary and legally permitted. IA Checker does not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, IA Checker relies on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer safeguard, together with appropriate technical and organisational measures.
Retention
Personal data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:
- account and subscription data while the account remains active and thereafter as needed to resolve requests, prevent fraud or establish legal claims;
- billing and transaction records for the period required by tax, accounting and payment laws;
- submitted content only for the duration needed to perform the requested server or partner operation, unless you expressly enable or use a save-to-history feature;
- saved text history for up to 365 days, or earlier when you delete an item, clear history or delete the account;
- contact correspondence for as long as needed to answer the request and maintain an appropriate record; and
- usage, feedback and security records for the period needed to analyse reliability, protect the Service and enforce legal rights, after which they are deleted, aggregated or anonymised.
Retention may be extended where a legal hold, dispute, security investigation or mandatory recordkeeping obligation applies.
Security
IA Checker uses proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections, secure authentication, access controls, signed billing webhooks, rate limiting and restricted administrative access. No system can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect their email account and avoid submitting data that is unnecessary for the chosen task.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal data, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or request portability. You may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.
Submit a request through the contact@iachecker.com or the contact form and state that it is a privacy request. IA Checker may ask for information needed to verify identity and authority. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority; in France, this is the CNIL.
Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. IA Checker does not knowingly create accounts for or collect personal data directly from children. If such data is identified, it will be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Changes and contact
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes in law, providers, security practices or the Service. The date at the top identifies the current version, and material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel where required.
